A Family Tradition
Joseph Swanson is living a dream. His late father, Clifford Swanson, dreamed of
having a family owned business that could be successful while helping promote
Christian principles and family values.
The elder Swanson brought the dream to fruition in 1935. With his faith, resolve,
hard work and the support of his family, the founding father started a company
that sold printed Christian materials and gift items out of a small room above a
grocery store in his home state of Pennsylvania.
Slowly, the fledgling company began to make a name for itself, and one success
led to another success and then to another. In 1951, the elder Swanson moved his
family and the business to St. Petersburg, Florida.
The youngest son, Joseph Swanson, purchased the business in 1963 and moved it
the same year to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to be better located geographically.
In January 2004, Victory Christian Center, a local church pastored by Adam
Swanson, acquired Swanson Christian Products. This business now operates as a
not for profit entity.
What began as a dream in a single room atop a store in Pennsylvania is now
several diversified companies doing business around the world from Murfreesboro,
Tennessee.

Swanson Christian Products
includes manufacturing and distribution of Christian products. The youngest of Joseph Swanson's children, Adam has overseen this operation since 2000.
Swanson Developments, LP owns and manages
millions of square feet of industrial, commercial and retail/office property,
owns hundreds of acres of real estate for future development, and is in the
construction business. In 2000, the family tradition continues as Joseph
Swanson's four children Debby, Joe Jr., Carmel and Adam as well as Debby's husband Bruce and Carmel's husband Tom became
actively involved in the company's daily operations. Their current project is
the development of Victory Station, a self-contained community comprising of
250+ acres in the Blackman Community on HWY 96 in Murfreesboro.
In 2003, two new
planned unit developments are underway. Kingdom Ridge consists of 400 acres in
the Blackman Community and Providence Pointe consists of 75 acres in east
Murfreesboro near the MTSU campus.
In 2007, Wedge Pointe Apartments, a student housing complex opened near MTSU.
In 2008, the city approved a mixed-use development of residential condominiums,
office and retail/restaurant called
The Gateway Village
adjacent to the new Middle
Tennessee Medical
Center on Medical Center Parkway.
The project is planned for completion when the hospital opens.
A
commercial contracting business building schools, churches, hi rise and single level office buildings and all other commercial structures on a bid or negotiated basis. The business has building quality construction since 1962.
A residential builder and real estate agency; Joseph Swanson Jr. owns and
operates this business. His business oversees the residential development of our
planned unit developments such as Victory Station, Kingdom Ridge and Providence
Pointe.
